Affiliate & Advertising Disclosure

Last updated: 17 June 2026

This page explains how Alpe du Zwift makes money. It costs money to build, host and maintain a site like this, so it is funded in two ways: display advertising and affiliate links. We want to be completely transparent about both, in line with the UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) and the CAP Code, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) guidance on online endorsements, and the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations.

Nothing on this page changes what you pay or what you see. The calculator is free, and it will always be free. The advertising and affiliate arrangements below never affect the result the calculator gives you.

Display advertising

Some pages on this site carry display adverts served by third-party advertising networks (for example, Google AdSense). These adverts are labelled as advertising, and we earn a small amount when they are shown or clicked. We do not control which specific adverts appear, and the presence of an advert is not an endorsement of the product or service being advertised.

Advertising networks may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads relevant to you. How your data is handled, and how you can control it through our consent banner, is set out in our Privacy Policy.

Affiliate links

Some links on this site — particularly on our gear and recommendation pages — are affiliate links. If you click one and then buy something, we may earn a small commission from the retailer, at no extra cost to you. You pay exactly the same price you would have paid going direct.

We only point to products we think are genuinely worth your time, but an affiliate commission is still a commercial relationship, so we tell you about it up front. Affiliate links are disclosed clearly on the pages where they appear, above the fold, so you always know when a link could earn us a commission. A commission never changes our opinion of a product, and it never changes the result the calculator gives you.

Amazon Associates

This site is a participant in the Amazon Associates programme. As required by Amazon, we state plainly:

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

This means that when you click an Amazon link on this site and make a qualifying purchase, we receive a small commission from Amazon, again at no extra cost to you.

Not affiliated with Zwift

Alpe du Zwift is an independent fan project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Zwift Inc. "Zwift" and "Alpe du Zwift" are the property of their respective owners and are used here only to describe what the calculator estimates: your time up the in-game climb (12.2 km and 1,036 m of ascent, averaging 8.5% gradient over 21 hairpins).

Questions

If anything here is unclear, or you would like to know whether a specific link is an affiliate link, please get in touch via our contact page. We are happy to explain.
